(HART & FOUTS 1963,1965: HART et ai.1963) This induction of the enzymatic activity of hepatic cells, which are responsible for the metabolism of various drugs, pesticides included, is recently put to the centre of study. The practical importance of such an induction is stressed by the fact that the interaction of various drugs with pesticides can alter the effect as well as the toxicity os these drugs(CO~EY 1967: CUCINELL et al. 1965) in our experiments we tried to establish the influence of a single dose of the pesticide heptachlor given simultaneously with another enzymatic inductorphenobarbital in various ratios upon the enzymatic activity of hepatic microsomal e~zymes.

Effects of Lead on the Induction of Hepatic Microsomal Enzymes by Phenobarbital and 3,4Benzpyrene. CHOW, C. P. AND CORNISH, H. H. (1978). Toxicol. Appl. Pharmacol. 43,219-228. A single ip injection of lead acetate (65 mg/kg) prolonged the duration of zoxazolamine paralysis in Sprague-Dawley rats and prevented the stimulation of zoxazolamine metabolism normally induced by phenobarbital. Lead als...
متن کاملEFFECT OF MODERATE EXERCISES, CURCUMIN AND THEIR COMBINATION ON LEVELS OF LEPTIN AND HEPATIC ENZYMES IN ELDERLY MALE RATS
Background & Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a common liver disease in the world and most studies show that there is a relationship between aging and the prevalence of this disease. Regarding the side effect of chemical drugs, it is better to control and treat this disease by changing the lifestyle and diet. In this study, we investigated the effects of 8 weeks of moderate-intensity ...
متن کاملInduction of chloramphenicol metabolism by phenobarbital.
The induction of hepatic microsomal enzymes leading to more rapid metabolism of antibiotics has been demonstrated in only a few prior studies. We have studied the induction of chloramphenicol metabolism in an isolated rat liver perfusion model and in intact dogs. Using these methods, we have demonstrated that the clearance of chloramphenicol from serum is markedly increased after treatment of a...
متن کاملCharacteristics of cytochrome P-450 and mixed function oxidase enzymes following treatment with PBBs.
The mixture of PBBs in FireMaster BP-6 has been demonstrated to constitute potent inducers of hepatic and extrahepatic mixed function oxidase (MFO) enzymes. Chronic dietary administration of PBBs to mature female rats results in a "mixed" pattern of induction, with increases in both cytochrome P-450 and P1-450 associated enzymes. Acute administration of PBBs (150 mg/kg IP) to mature female rats...
متن کاملInfluence of propiverine on hepatic microsomal cytochrome p450 enzymes in male rats.
The bladder spasmolytics propiverine was shown to induce hepatic cytochrome P450 (P450) and aminopyrine and aniline oxidation in rats. To characterize the type of enzyme induction and its dose dependence, activities of seven hepatic microsomal P450-dependent monooxygenases were measured in 72 male LEW1A albino rats (body weight 236-295 g) after oral treatment with 0.5, 2, 6, and 60 mg/kg of pro...
